Absolutely true, one can feel it when walking in Cairo streets. I was delighted to know that my father has switched his car to natural gas. It is an environment friendly fuel and extremely cheap compared to petrol fuel. Natural gas full tank costs only 6 Egyptian pounds (almost 1 US dollar) (Inta mouta2akid??!! Inta yimkin asdak 6000 geneih?!). The number of gas service stations is increasing continuously. Egypt is a rapidly growing natural gas producer. Due to major recent discoveries, natural gas is likely to be the primary growth engine of Egypt's energy sector in the foreseeable future. The government should make use of it. Executives have to plan to switch all new cars into this new technology.

X: but if there is no natural gas?

No problem, the car runs with both. You can switch whenever you want, even you can do it while you are driving your car. However, I had some troubles to switch it twice. I called my brother asking for help. It is that easy once you figure how it works!!

X : tu kiffe le Nil toi ?

Oui bien sûr. Dans la première semaine de mes vacances Hossam m’invita à son anniversaire. On l’a célébra au bord d’un yacht dans le Nil. 3 heures dans l’eau où on s’éloigna du centre ville vers le sud. La lune fut pleine. Après quelques temps avec les amis, j’assis dans un coin tout seul, seulement la lumière de la lune et le bruit de l’eau. Je n’attendais pas la musique de la fête. J’avais pas mal de choses à dire au Nil après mon absence pendant 3 années.

X : alors qu’est que tu lui dis?

Je lui demandai pardon. It is sad to leave your home. Many young well qualified Egyptians leave their home every year. Everyone has his own reason, but the main common thing between them is that they still love their country, their families and the Nil. We are like a palm tree

هل حضرت أية أنشطة في الساقية؟

للأسف لم أفعل. زرت الساقية في وسط النهار و كان الجو حارا. زرتها خصيصا لأن الفكرة أعجبتني بشدة. و مصدر اعجابي أنها خارجة على تقاليد المراصد و المراكز الثقافية و هي تعيد إلى الواجهة نماذج من العمل النفعي و الخيري الذي كان يعرف سابقا بالوقف. و على ذكر الوقف هناك دراسة غنية وافية قدمها الأستاذ إبراهيم البيومي غانم عن الوقف في التاريخ العربي الإسلامي. لا شك أن هذا الضرب من الأعمال لم ينحصر في التاريخ الحضاري العربي الاسلامي و إنما استمر في الأمم و الحضارات المتقدمة و ذلك لأن هذا الفعل الذي لا يسعى صاحبه إلي كسب مادي بل يتحمل كلفة تقديم أشياء تنفع الناس هو أمر يعكس قيمة حضارية و فعل راقي.
الغريب أن مفهوم الوقف عندنا نحن العرب المعاصرين صار لا يتجاوز شجرة يستظل بها الناس أو مصدر ماء بارد يروي العطشى تحت شمسنا الحارقة.

ألا تستحب مبردات المياه في شوارع القاهرة الحارة؟

بلى أستحبها. لكني ألاحظ أن غاية ما ندركه و نراه صار يتعلق بالمأكل و المشرب –للبدن- و لا نعطي الروح و العقل نصيبا معقولا. و هذا لا يقتصر على الوقف و إنما يجري على مشروعات الكسب. إذا سألت أي منا اليوم أي مشروع يرغب في القيام به، بدون شك سيكون مشروعا يتعلق بالغذاء أو الملبس، قلة هم أولئك الذين تراودهم مشروعات تربوية، ثقافية، علمية، حضارية. أعتقد أننا بحاجة إلى تصحيح مفهومنا عن الوقف و توجيه الفعل نحو منافع حضارية و عملية.
ما أعجبني في الفكرة بساطتها. من كان سيعير المساحة القابعة أسفل الكوبري اهتماما و هي التي اعتدنا فيها روائحها الكريهة و تجمعات المخلفات. الأمر لا يحتاج إلى خطب نارية و لا إلى تمويل كبير، يكفي أن نمتلك عقلا و إرادة

واحدة من الأغنيات التي كررت استماعي لها قبل رحلتي إلى مصر كانت أغنية الفنانة المختفية عايدة الأيوبي. كانت كلماتها عتاب رقيق لغيابي الطويل.
الزيارة كانت ممتعة و لكن كان السؤال الذي يتكرر و لا يزال ليه تهجر بلدك و تسيبنا، بلدك بيك أولى ؟ لا يا مصري لا لا و ألف لا، ليه تهجرنا و قلبك يقسى

الاجابة عن هذا السؤال طويلة و مؤلمة.بالأمس سئلت على مائدة العشاء إذا ما كنا هنا أفضل أم في مصر؟ إجابتي كانت سريعة مصر أحب البلاد إلى قلبي لكن للأسف حالنا هنا أفضل. حالنا في مصر أفضل فقط إذا كنا نستطيع التعايش مع نواميس المجتمع الجديد المال و الوساطة و الولاء للسلطة و السلبية التي نجدها في أقرب الناس لنا. حالنا هنا أفضل لأننا على الأقل نحقق ما هو جيد لأشخاصنا و إضافة للوطن، إذ الوطن يثرى بأفراد منتجين، أخيرا فإننا لا نشارك في إثم وكسة البلد و خداع الغلابة،و هذا حتى يقضي الله أمرا كان مفعولا
