Retour à la vie.
I am back to life. I finished my exams yesterday. Well, I have got many topics on my list during last weeks. I don't know from where I have to start.

X: so you want me to choose the topic?

X: I knew that you got a new footwear?

Yes that is right. I got a new pair for basketball games. Good deal, I paid only 75 bucks. I like my old pair, but I use it for jogging, I thought it was time to change. May be the old one was good. Any way, the old pair had done its job and now I have to change and put the old one on the shelf, I won't say in the garbage can, yes be faithful and grateful is one of the good manners that mom taught me.

X: all that for your shoes?

Not only my shoes. Change is a good thing. I think that it is time that our president M go away and leave the place. Our country is rich and we have great people who can run the country toward democracy and justice. Imagine that you had the same shoes during 24 years, I am sure that your feet would have smelled very bad!!

X: isn't difficult to find shoes that fit your size "13"?

Yes quite difficult but it worth. Look at that Adidas. No no wait your have to look when I shoot or rebound.

X: Songes-tu d'apprendre l'Esperanto?

No, no. Mohamed, my brother blamed me coz so far my blog is in French. He is not the only one. Heba asked me to write my blog in English so she can read and understand!!

X: will you write it in English?

I don’t know. It depends on the mood and what I want to write. I can talk about things only in Arabic, but I prefer to talk about other topics in French or English. Also, I think it is a habit. I used to speak French over the past years so I think in French most of the time. Even in Mcgill, when I come in I start with bonjour, comment ça va? Then I realize that my classmates expecting English greeting then I start to look for the English track in my head!!

X: I know it is quite hard to switch from one language into another especially when you start doing this when you are 27.

Ya, exactly, I was surprised when I noticed that most of my classmates not only master both French and English, but they go from one to another very easily and mix words and sentences with English and French words. Imagine, our courses packs include French and English materials. You are supposed to read and understand both. Even classes, we have classes in French and others in English but the professor can change and mix English with French and the same for our questions or opinions when we express ourselves in the class. So you end up with a kind of Franglais!!

X: so if you add Arabic, it would be Arafranglais?!!

X: do you still plan to learn Spanish?

Yes I do, I hope to have enough time and money to learn this language, it always sounds like music for my ears. I have started but I didn't have enough time to go far. Sure I would like to complete what I started. Also I would like to learn more than one language.

X: I know, so how many so far? 5?

No, it comes to 6; Arabic, English, French, Spanish,….. and eyes language!!

لا، هذا شيك تلقيته اليوم من فرنسا، تسديدا لمستحقاتي من شركة التأمين الصحي. لك أن تتخيل أن عقد تأميني استمر حتى بعد رحيلي و قد لاحظت أنهم استمروا في تحميل حسابي مصروفات شهرية لمدة 3 شهور. حين التفت إلى الأمر. اتصلت بهم و شرحت لهم أني غادرت فرنسا و أني لم أعد مقيم و أني لا أستفيد من التأمين و عليه فلا يحق لهم تجديد العقد تلقائيا و تحميلي مثل هذه المصروفات. دونت الموظفة معلوماتي و وعدت بمراجعة الأمر و الاتصال بي في أقرب فرصة. بعدها كنا على اتصال بالبريد الالكتروني و بالفعل تم وقف السحبات الشهرية. نسيت هذا الأمر و مضت شهور الثلج هنا. و إذ بعد ظهر اليوم في صندوق بريدي هذا الشيك مرفقا بخطاب شرح و اعتذار. سررت لسببين.
الأول أنه قلما تفتح بريدك وتجد فيه غير الفواتير و الأخبار المزعجة، فأن تجد مالا حتى و إن كان مالك المستحق فهذا مدعاة للعجب، أليس كذلك؟!!
الثاني، أن رد الأمانات و الحقوق فريضة غائبة و لكن غيابها أقل حضورا في العالم المتحضر.

تخيل في مصر مثلا، و هذه للأسف قصة حقيقية عشتها بنفسي. في أول عملي بالمحاماة في مصر. كان أحد عملاء مكتبنا رجل بسيط الحال تعرض لحادث سير حين صدمه أتوبيس هيئة النقل العام. بعد مرور سنوات و بعد أن أفلحنا في الحصول على حكم نهائي بتعويض. بقي أن ننجح في تنفيذ الحكم أي انتزاع قيمة التعويض من بين أنياب الأسد"الحكومة". طبعا لك أن تتخيل كم رحلة ذهاب و إياب قمت بها إلى إدارة هيئة النقل العام بالحي السادس بمدينة نصر، لك أن تتخيل كم موظفا تناوب مع زملائه الدور في إرسالي من طابق إلى آخر، و كم مرة لم أجد هذا أو ذاك على مكتبه و كم و كم... أنا سافرت و لا أدري إن كان الرجل قد نال حقه أم لا. الرجل وكلََّ محاميا في نفس المدينة و المحكمة تنعقد و القاضي يقول و المحامي يقول و دفاع الحكومة يقول، فيلم طويل!! و الرجل لم يفلح في الحصول على مستحقاته.
X: I see, and you are on another continent. But no problem, you receive your money in your mail box!! You get your money back from France!! I think if you tell your friends in Egypt about this story they may think that you exaggerate.
أعتقد أن أول ما سيسألون عنه هو المبلغ الذي تلقيته. و حين يتعرفون عليه سيضربون كفا بكف و يقولون كل هذا الفيلم من أجل....يورو!!
